LUNATICS ON POGOSTICKS! Announce ‘MDMAtes’ Single & East Coast Tour, February 2016!

Since the release of 2014 EP Sleeping Till The Weekend, Byron Bay/Melbourne trio Lunatics On Pogosticks have been working extensively on their debut album. The result comes in the form of their brand new single ‘MDMAtes’, set for release with an accompanying tour.

Gritty and full of the scuzz that fans originally fell in love with, the track echoes influence from the dingy, dark corners of the Australian pub rock scene. ‘MDMAtes’ is described by lead singer Calum Newton as a somewhat enigmatic story of “a friend in Brisbane who lives in a kitchen, owns a bunch of snakes, buys pingas off the deep web and sells ‘em to his mates”.

‘MDMAtes’ is adventurous and dirty. It drips with sweat from the walls of a pub band room; alcohol caked into its carpets. It stumbles home at 5am, passes out on a bed and wakes up the next morning to do it all over.

Forming in 2011 as a duo, the band expanded to three members and took out the title of Triple J Unearthed High in 2013. Since then, the band has supported the likes of DZ DeathraysJebediah and Grinspoon, and made appearances at festivals such as Farmer & The Owl and Falls Music & Arts Festival.

The tour takes the band along the east coast, headlining shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
