Aural Window Cover Britney Spears Till The World Ends, Band to Embark on Mini-Tour
Melbourne-based post-hardcore band, Aural Window, will be hitting the road in the coming months to promote their cover of Britney Spears’s smash hit, Till The World Ends.
Says lead singer Sheena Young of the track: “I think it’s one of those times when you hear a song on radio and you just know that it’ll be pretty special to give it your own flavour. Besides, it’s a great party song to get people dancing. We just felt that it needed a bit more guitars!”
Aural Window has injected intricate guitar licks on an already infectious dance beat of the original, giving the track a multi-layered and kaleidoscopic sound.

Hailing from Australia’s live music capital Melbourne, Aural Window has been steadily carving out their own, unique niche, one that marries compelling music and sincere but at times arbitrary lyrics.
Their effort is influenced by a stretch of artists including classics like Guns N ‘Roses and The Beatles, to contemporary legends like AFI and Will Haven. With dynamic vocals, big guitars and booming rhythms, Aural Window’s sound is as intricate as it is massive.
The band first recorded their 2007 EP, No Trust in the Morrow, in their home studio, and released it at a sold-out show at the famed Arthouse in North Melbourne. Wanting to further explore a more elaborate sound, in 2010 they released their second EP, Cocoon and Epitropros, receiving much acclaim for a refreshing blend of melodic furor within a hard-rock/post-hardcore dynamic.
Their first music video, “Ghost of Light”, off of Cocoon and Epitropos premiered in November 2010. The music video was shot in an abandoned, allegedly haunted hospital in Melbourne and was produced by the team at We Are Synapse.
Shortly after that the band went on their first international tour and played nine shows in the USA, including one memorable gig at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles where they played support to the legendary drummer, Matt Sorum. One Las Vegas-based promoter was so impressed; he invited them to return in their summer of 2012 on a bigger tour.
For the US tour, the band brought along indie filmmaker, Scott Lister, who documented their on-tour antics and produced a music video from the footage for their second single “Amber’s First Kiss”, premiered in June 2011.
The band goes on tour regularly, playing both local festivals and club shows. Having performed with the crème de la crème of the nation’s best rock bands, including Sydonia, Jericco, Built On Secrets, Twelve Foot Ninja, the band is setting its sights on big things in 2012. With a new EP in the works, Aural Window is more energised than ever. The new record centres on the themes of triumph against adversity and proving doubters wrong, a subject they live through every day as musicians. The expected release is sometime in Autumn 2012.
