Josh Rawiri’s eagerly awaited new album ‘Molecular Teleportation’ has been set for release on the 7th October. The album and new single “Follow The Road”, released through The A&R Department and distributed by MGM, will be supported with a string of launch shows throughout NSW and VIC.
This 6’8” wave dropping, tangent riding muso, has created his own genre of Australian coastal blues roots rock with a distinctive soulful style that has been attracting interest from both roots and country music sectors.
Over the last few months Josh has been independently promoting the new albums second single “War On Religion” which represents the grass roots/ country elements of Josh’s sound. The single naturally progressed with Josh’s commitment on the independent music scene receiving widespread radio play on major indie, adult-contemporary and country networks across Australia.
Josh's debut album ‘If You Need Love’, 2009, gained critical acclaim, wide radio play, song writing awards and high profile support shows- spurring him into 24 months of solid touring activity connecting to a diverse fan base across Australia.
After having built his following as a solo act, Josh is excited about touring ‘Molecular Teleportation’ with his full band consisting of Declan Kelly (Katie Noonan, Michael Franti) and Anatoli Torjinski (Monsieur Camembert). Watching the band perform live you can expect to see soulful blues, deep roots rock jams and smooth melodies reminiscent of a sun soaked summer road-trip.

BIOGRAPHY:
Josh Rawiri‘s new album ‘Molecular Teleportation’ (out October 7) has come to fruition after a year of creative collaboration with a team of fresh musicians and producers, showcasing Josh’s evolution as an independent Australian musician.
This 6”8 ex-cheffing, body boarding, tangent riding muso has created his own genre of Australian coastal blues roots rock never forgetting to serve up with lashings of deep dub reggae grooves. His intricate guitar style and powerful honey ladled voice inspire graceful melodies, deep fluid base lines and strong original structures.
Josh's debut album "If You Need Love" gained critical acclaim, wide radio play, song writing awards and high profile support shows, with over 10, 000 albums sold through live touring alone and numerous film and television licensing deals. , Relentless touring since 2009 has built Josh Rawiri a widespread following across regional Australia headlining in numerous cities and towns across the nation. His debut album's launch tour (If you need love 2009), saw Josh traverse over 20, 000Kms of Australia in just 6 weeks and spurred him onto 24 months of solid touring activity.
In May 2010 Josh collaborated with drummer Declan Kelly (Katie Noonan, Guy Sebastian), Cello virtuoso Anatoli Torjinski (Monseir Camembert) and strings from the Sydney symphony to record the new album ‘molecular teleportation’.
"Feel Good" was released as the first single from Josh's forthcoming second album, the debut film clip received airplay on rage, MAX tv and channel v, taking out silver in three Australian Film awards for the music film category.
